Between 2015 and 2018, the company was also processing hemp straw. Once the hemp in the field reaches maturity, the producer mows it, tying the dried stalks into bales. Bales of dry hemp straw are then purchased by the company. After baling, the hemp is left to age for 3 to 6 months and is then sent to the pre-drying process in the factory. Once the straw is dry enough, it is sent to the production process through a device with multiple phases. First, the dried straw passes through a shredding machine, and then through a straw-combing machine, a dispenser, and a brush. The final products are hemp wool used for insulation, and hemp groats used for construction.
